PTFE tape is used to wrap around the thread of the connecting pieces that do not have an integral O-ring so they can fit tightly.

The tape should be wrapped tightly 3-5 laps around the fitting clockwise when the fitting thread is facing down.
The tape can't be reused and must be replaced from installation to installation.
